arrowleaf balsamroot
One of the first to rise in the spring, this wild beauty graces our chlorophyll-deprived eyes with its mounds of soft silver-green shoots, curled leaves, and fuzzy flower buds.
Arrowleaf Balsamroot (Balsamorhiza sagitatta) has been waiting patiently underground in a cyclic holding pattern, waiting for the subtle cues of spring’s arrival to re-emerge into the elements.
The aromatic resin held exclusively in its “Balsamroot” contains seasonally specific medicine. The native people of this region lived in close relationship with Arrowleaf Balsamroot for not only a medicine but a staple food source as well. Some consider the changing medicinal nature of Balsamroot’s resin to be a response to what the plant senses is most needed in the world around it.
Learn about this wild being and its seasonally changing medicine at the next Lapis Sky Plant Immersion where we will be tasting balsamroot-infused honey and learning about the plant through embodied story.
Together we will be strengthening our own foundational roots so that we too are ready to rise with the warmth of spring.
What to expect:
meditation, focused breath, storytelling
sensory exploration, examining the root, tasting wildcrafted infused honey
kinesthetic learning about the plant through a somatic movement practice called WildCore™.
At the end of our time together each participant will bring home condensed guidance on the expanded medicinal values, ethical harvesting tips, and tried and true recipes for use in cultivating a deeper personal relationship with Arrowleaf Balsamroot.
