Settle in by the warm wood stove…
at the historic Meadowbrook Hall located just a few minutes outside of town. Allow the warmth to envelop you as we spiral inward and steep ourselves in the healing essence and lore of 3 local plant allies.
Note: This offering is the second in a three part series. Participants are welcome to attend one or all three. See registration details below.
ANCIENT HORSETAIL
Horsetail is a remnant of another time.
A time before humans, a time before even birds and flowers, a time when everything operated on a much slower and primal track. The morphogenic field of this plant gives us pause for perspective. Horsetail has witnessed mass extinctions and rebirths on multiple occasions, and it has learned the value of response, particularly response to the call of water.
We can learn much from Horsetail.
We will start our time together by the warm wood stove, followed by a guided meditation and sensory exploration of our second plant of the series, ancient Horsetail (Equisetum arvense).
After acquainting ourselves with ancient Horsetail we will then move our physical bodies following simple sequences of choreography inspired by the plant's signature via WildCore™ movement.
WildCore incorporates a blend of choreography, conscious dance, breath-work, and belonging designed to awaken our inner dancer, enliven our well-being, and inspire self-healing.
Different than performance dance, which is what we normally see and experience on the mainstream level, WildCore incorporates patterns and free-form movement to explore the inner territory of the body. When we allow ourselves to detach from the idea of dance as a means of attracting attention or approval (doing steps “right”), we find a powerful medicine for removing conscious and sometimes unconscious energetic blockages in the body.
To conclude our time together we will regather by the fireplace to enjoy a cup of herbal tea, story sharing, and discussion around the many unique characteristics of Horsetail.
Please know that all Lapis Sky offerings aim to create a safe container of space to dance unencumbered by perfection and self-judgment. Open to all levels. No dance background is necessary. Come as you are. Read more about Lapis Sky + WildCore movement.
