Home of the Star Seed

With buds emerging in spring shaped like a five-pointed star, cotton-like seeds taking to the sky in summer, and an actual star revealed within its broken branch during winter, it is no wonder this tree is referred to as "the home of star seed".

Through guided mediation and sensory exploration, we will learn about the unique characteristics of Cottonwood. This will look like applying a small amount of infused cottonwood oil to the skin, tasting cottonwood honey, and examining the shape and pattern of the buds and branches.

After acquainting with Cottonwood we then move our physical bodies following simple sequences of choreography inspired by the plant signature via WildCore™ movement. WildCore incorporates a blend of choreography, conscious dance, breath-work, and belonging, which naturally awakens our inner dancer, enlivens our well-being, and inspires self-healing.

We will conclude this last class of the series with some time to connect with one another by the fireplace enjoying a cup of herbal tea, story sharing, and discussion around the many unique characteristics of Cottonwood.

Note: All Lapis Sky offerings aim to create a safe container of space to dance unencumbered by perfection and self-judgment. Open to all levels. No dance background is necessary. Come as you are. Read more about Lapis Sky + WildCore movement.
