Settle in by the warm wood stove…
at the historic Meadowbrook Hall located just a few minutes outside of town. Allow the warmth to envelop you as we spiral inward and steep ourselves in the healing essence and lore of 3 local plant allies.
Note: This offering is the second in a three-part series. Participants are welcome to attend one or all three. See registration details below.
mullein
Verbascum thapsus
This common roadside plant, often disregarded as a noxious nuisance, is one of the greats in my book. Mullein’s unique softening and lightening qualities are especially helpful in March as we prepare to unfold ourselves from the still winter season to join the more fluid and rising energy of spring.
Reaching towards the sky with its tall slender stalk flowering upwards in golden yellow blooms, Mullein points to the warmth of the sun in salutation to the world that lies above.
Its unique ability to soften what has turned hard is seen in the outer ecology of it’s growing location and the inner ecology of the human body through its support of the respiratory, lymphatic, urinary, and musculoskeletal system.
In this upcoming offering, we will tend our internal waters and orient our senses to the more subtle qualities of Mullein. The characteristics of mullein will be learned and felt in the body through focused attention on its core patterns of being.
This will look like:
meditation, focused breath, sacred story
sensory exploration with wildcrafted tea and oil
kinesthetic learning and plant pattern recognition through a somatic movement practice called WildCore™.
WildCore incorporates a blend of choreography, conscious dance, breath-work, and belonging, which naturally awakens our inner dancer, enlivens our well-being, and inspires self-healing.
Note: All Lapis Sky offerings aim to create a safe container of space to dance unencumbered by perfection and self-judgment. Open to all levels. No dance background is necessary. Come as you are.
